Who is the Movie Girl?

Film as dream, film as music. No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls.
Ingmar Bergman

Ever since I can remember, I've had an immense love and appreciation for Film.    You could say that my love affair with those beautiful moving pictures began the minute I laid eyes upon a televsion set. It was the way that anything could happen in a movie. Anything at all. The possibilities; limitless, and almost everything inspired by one's imagination. I loved the way that Actors could live a thousand lives, die countless times, experience a million adventures and be a part of completely different worlds, all in one lifetime. I loved how stories could be brought to life in such spectacular ways. I loved the reality escape, and the way that whether you needed it or not, it could transport you to another world in an instant, remind you that you are capable of feeling any of those emotions that you thought you could not anymore. But that is what I loved (and still do or course) most - the way that a film could make you feel. The way something so simple in its finality, could touch the deepest part of you, and bring out emotions that you sometimes thought weren't even there. Emotional reactions, that often make you realise just how much empathy a person is capable of possessing. Whether a Film makes you laugh, cry, feel enraged or afraid, the immense power it has has always enthralled me, even changed me on rare occasions.
I fell in love with all of it. And the love affair still continues, and i'm sure it will continue for the rest of my life. It is a part of me, and always will be.
After going to the cinema today, I decided I wanted to have something that I could really use to express my love for pictures. Where I could write my reviews, no matter how un/professional they may be, and just talk about films straight from the heart.
So here I am, writing a blog. Whether a lot, or hardly any people see this, does not worry me in the slightest. I just want to write about and share my thoughts on one of the things I love most.
